Rio Ferdinand has named Mohamed Salah as the best player in the Premier League after his stunning goal during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Man City on Sunday.
The Egyptian attacker has started this campaign in fine form with six goals in his opening seven Premier League games as the Reds find themselves second on the table going into the international break.
Salah gave Liverpool a 2-1 lead on Sunday thanks to his superb run and ferocious strike before Liverpool were again pegged back by a deflected strike from Kevin De Bruyne as the spoils were shared.

Ferdinand believes that there is no better player in England than Salah right now and hailed the player’s impact on the team’s successes in recent years.
‘He’s the best player in the Premier League right now. It’s bunning my chest talking like this about a Liverpool player,’ he said on Vibe on Five.
’[His goal} was like being on FIFA, that chop, I’ve done that many times on Fifa where you pretend to whip it top corner and then you chop it back. Playground skills.
‘Salah is scoring goals that is helping Liverpool win premier League and Champions League titles.’
The former Manchester United player also praised Liverpool for their improvement in the second half, describing them as a ‘different animal’.
‘What I like about Liverpool was they started terribly, and they reacted at half time, came out a different animal. The first half Liverpool couldn’t get out and City could have had 2 or 3 first half, I think City will be disappointed not to win and Liverpool happy with a draw,’ he added.
