Bruno Fernandes has fired a light-hearted warning to his Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba after France’s victory against Germany in their Euro 2020 opening game on Tuesday.
Mats Hummels’ own goal in the first half of the huge clash was enough for the reigning world champions to secure a win in their first game in Group F at the Allianz Arena.
Pogba delivered a superb performance alongside N’Golo Kante at the heart of France’s midfield and the United player was named man of the match of his display after the match.
After receiving the award, Fernandes sent a message to his United teammate with Portugal set to play France in their final Group F game next Wednesday.
On his Instagram story, Fernandes posted a picture of the Frenchman in his post-match interview with the message: ‘Happy for you, but MVP only today’.
However, Portugal also got their Euro 2020 campaign off to an impressive start with a 3-0 victory over Hungary on Tuesday.
Raphael Guerreiro’s goal put Portugal ahead before Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals late on in the game to seal the win.
