Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made a bizarre rant about Julia Roberts as he discussed his Champions League “failure”.
City progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition as they smashed RB Leipzig for seven last night, with Erling Haaland netting five of them.
But the Spaniard insisted he would always be a failure regardless of if they win it this season because Hollywood actress Roberts, who’s one of his three idols, chose to visit Manchester United back in November 2016 instead of them.
He said during his press conference: “I am a failure in the Champions League. If I win the Champions League three times in a row I will be a failure.
“I have three idols in my life. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Julia Roberts. These are my three idols. Julia Roberts years ago came to Manchester – not in the 90s when Sir Alex Ferguson was winning titles and titles and titles.
“She came in the period where we were better than United, in these four or five years, right? And she went to visit Man United. She didn’t come to see us.
“That’s why even if I win the Champions League it will not compare for the fact that Julia Roberts came to Manchester and didn’t come to see us. Even if I win the Champions League it will not compare to this disappointment I had.”

Roberts visited Old Trafford to watch United’s 1-1 draw against West Ham United, a game which saw Jose Mourinho sent off and Ibrahimovic salvage a point for the club as Diafra Sakho opened the scoring inside two minutes.
After the match she, her husband Daniel Moder and three children, who all support United, took to the pitch and met Wayne Rooney, his wife Coleen, and Carrick.
