Man Utd consider swapping Cristiano Ronaldo for PSG boss Pochettino

Manchester United and PSG could strike a swap deal in the summer that would see Cristiano Ronaldo move to Paris and Mauricio Pochettino head to the theatre of dreams.

United look certain to appoint a new manager in the summer, with Ralf Rangnick not doing enough to be considered for a permanent role during his stint as interim manager so far.

Pochettino has long been a target for the Red devils and they could move for him at the end of the campaign, with the possibility of Ronaldo going the other way.

The Mirror claim that PSG are confident that Ronaldo will be open to leaving Old Trafford at the end of the campaign, despite only signing a contract last year which runs until 2023.

It has been a frustrating time for the Portuguese forward since his return to United, scoring 14 goals in all competitions, but with the club struggling for consistent performances or results and any silverware looking unlikely this season.

PSG would love to bring Ronaldo to France, especially with Kylian Mbappe set to leave the Ligue 1 club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

The French side may also be perfectly happy to let Pochettino go as there is interest in appointing Zinedine Zidane to take over from the Argentine, unless PSG win the Champions League this campaign.

Ronaldo and Zidane had a very successful time together at Real Madrid and could link up once again in Paris.

A Ronaldo exit could also solve a situation for Pochettino arriving as manager, who would want to play a high-energy style of play, which would be unlikely to suit the former Juventus star.

The swap deal would also see Ronaldo team up with his old rival Lionel Messi and Neymar at PSG, under the management of Zidane, which would definitely be showbiz.
