Man Utd finalising financial terms with Jadon Sancho’s agent before making bid

Manchester United have reignited a move for Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and hope to finalise financial terms with his representatives before making a bid.

Dortmund set a deadline of August 8th for United to sign Sancho and the Bunesliga side are already planning for next campaign with the player after they failed to meet his £108m asking price.

But, United believe Dortmund’s deadline was just a ploy to extract their asking price for the England international and they feel a deal is still possible this summer.

The Red Devils are unwilling to pay Dortmund’s asking price but that is not the only stumbling block for a possible deal, as Sancho’s representatives are also demanding high wages and a huge signing-on fee.

While United are desperate to sign Sancho, the pandemic means they cannot sign players in the manner they used to.

But United’s still want to get a deal done and the Daily Mail claim they have resumed negotiations with the winger’s team to reach an agreement over his salary and their cut of a deal.

United have completed the signing of Donny van de Beek from Ajax on Wednesday for a fee of £40m to start their summer spending.

They had previously targeted Jack Grealish but they were put off by Aston Villa’s £75m valuation of the midfielder and signing Van de Beek for a more acceptable fee could give the club more wriggle room in talks for Sancho.

Once Solskjaer’s side settle financial terms with Sancho’s representatives, the club will submit an opening bid to Dortmund for the England star.

Talks had already been held with the Bundesliga club but an offer was never submitted, with United and Dortmund instead opening a dialogue over the fee.
