Manchester United have reportedly made an approach to sign Leeds United star Raphinha.
The 24-year-old midfielder has made an immediate impression in his first campaign at Leeds after he joined in a £17m deal from Rennes last October.
Solskjaer has been keen to sign a player to improve his right flank, with the Red devils targeting Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho last summer window.
The Brazilian represents an alternative solution to Sancho, who was valued at around £100m by the Bundesliga club last year.
According to UOL Esporte, United began discussions last week over a deal for Raphinha and are working on the financial details of a possible transfer this summer.
The report claims that Raphinha’s representatives plan to meet with Leeds United to discuss an exit away from Elland Road at the end of the campaign.
It’s also believed that United have an advantage in the race to sign Raphinha as he is close friends with Bruno Fernandes after their time together at Sporting, and the duo are reported to be in constant contact.

Speaking this week, Raphinha, who has also been linked with a transfer move to Liverpool, said that he is happy at Leeds United.
‘I’m really happy and so satisfied to be a part of this club,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘And when I found that Leeds were interested for me and they wanted me and the way they accepted me, the way I was embraced, the way I was treated on arrival here means and I am really happy now.
‘Today, I’m really well settled in the city and the club. I thank everybody for their affection. They contributed to this.’
