Man Utd make final transfer decision on Paul Pogba

Manchester United are reluctantly ready to offload Paul Pogba and sell their record signing in the summer window, according to reports.

The player’s controversial agent, Mino Raiola, confirmed his client was ready to leave United in an explosive interview last month, shortly after they chose to trigger a clause in his contract and extend his deal for another 12 months.

After leaving Pogba on the bench for their Champions League clash against RB Leipzig, the Frenchman has returned to his best form in recent weeks and helped catapult United to the brink of the Premier League summit.

According to the Mirror, Solskjaer is said to be delighted with Pogba’s attitude and has little doubt over his commitment, but with the midfielder unwilling to sign a new long-term contract, United fear they have no option but to sell the player.

Pogba’s exit will at least likely be partially offset by the continued excellence of Ferandes who has taken on a talismanic role since he arrived at the club a year ago.

The Portuguese star proved to be the matchwinner on New Year’s Day when his penalty secured a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa and moved United level on points with Liverpool.

And Fernandes has been thrilled with the contribution Pogba has made to United’s good form and believes the club are on the verge of building something special.

He said: ‘I hope people are not in doubt on the qualities of Paul because we know he can play, he can help us and he can play really well. I think we are building something important.

‘The most important for us is building a team, building a group of players who take care of each other. ‘As I sit in the stands in the last two or three minutes, everyone is shouting and hoping to don’t concede a goal and to take care of the ball.

‘Everyone wanted the three points, everyone wanted that win and this is what it is all about. Now we have to build on this more and more.’
