What Man Utd players think about Erik ten Hag sack after Ratcliffe meetings

Reportedly, Manchester United players anticipate Sir Jim Ratcliffe will sever ties with Erik ten Hag by the season’s end.

Ten Hag’s leadership led to another devastating loss for the Red Devils against Crystal Palace, intensifying pressure on the manager.

United’s recent struggles, winning only one of their last seven Premier League matches, have resulted in them falling out of European contention.

Despite hopes of reclaiming seventh place against Crystal Palace, United’s performance didn’t reflect a team vying for European football.

Palace’s decisive 4-0 victory over United, with goals from Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Tyrick Mitchell, prompted Ten Hag to publicly advocate for his retention next season.

However, United players doubt Ten Hag’s pleas will sway Ratcliffe, believing the owner will choose to part ways with him.

Ratcliffe’s reluctance to publicly support Ten Hag has fostered uncertainty within the team and the broader club environment.

United are exploring various managerial options for the upcoming summer, including Thomas Tuchel from Bayern Munich and Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton.

But Ten Hag believes he still has what it takes to guide his team back to glory, saying after the defeat: “Our worst defeat. We should have kept fighting like the fans did. It’s clear, this is underperforming. It’s by far not good enough. We are very disappointed. We should have kept fighting like the fans did.

“I will keep fighting. I prepared the team in the best way I could do. It was by far not good enough and I have to take responsibility for that. I will find energy and prepare for Sunday’s game [against Arsenal].”
