Man Utd’s budget for Jim Ratcliffe’s first summer transfer window has been leaked

It has been reported that the budget for Manchester United’s upcoming transfer window, which marks Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s initial period at the helm, has been inadvertently disclosed.

Following a prolonged period of rumors, it was officially announced in February that Ratcliffe, alongside his INEOS group, had acquired a minority stake in Manchester United.

A statement from United read: “Manchester United plc (NYSE: MANU), and Trawlers Limited, an entity wholly-owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are pleased to confirm that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed his acquisition of 25% of the club’s Class B shares and 25% of the club’s Class A shares, following the satisfaction of all conditions, including approvals from the Football Association and the Premier League.”

Anticipating the upcoming summer transfer period, reports suggest that Manchester United has already established their budget.

According to ESPN, the club has some leeway for squad enhancements, yet they are expected to cap their net expenditure at £100 million.

Several players are rumored to be on the verge of exiting Old Trafford once the season concludes.

Speculation is rife that Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial might part ways with the club as free agents.

Furthermore, Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay, and Harry Maguire are also considered potential departures, contingent on suitable bids.

Additionally, Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, and Mason Greenwood are confronting uncertainties regarding their tenure at Manchester United.

Speaking ahead of United’s Premier League game with Burnley, Erik ten Hag said: “We are in a position in the season with so many setbacks and when you don’t have the players available, you cannot put in the performance levels you target.

“That is the truth and I think many fans understand that this is the case and we can do better. But still, also, last year we were quite successful and we had good momentum. This year, we are less successful but we are again in a final and that is a good performance and it is where we want to be, to be in the position to win silverware.”
