John Terry predicts where Arsenal will finish in Premier League title race

John Terry, the Chelsea legend, has expressed his belief that Manchester City will secure the Premier League title, while predicting that Arsenal will slip to third place.

City gained control of the intense title race after both Liverpool and Arsenal suffered surprising home defeats to Crystal Palace and Aston Villa earlier this month.

Despite City’s FA Cup semi-final commitments last weekend, both Arsenal and Liverpool have managed to move ahead of them again.

Currently, Arsenal leads the table by four points, following wins over Wolves and a 5-0 thrashing of Chelsea on Monday night. Liverpool has the opportunity to join them at 77 points if they defeat Everton tonight.

City, with two games in hand, will face Brighton on Thursday and still hold their fate in their own hands.

Terry, recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, firmly believes that Pep Guardiola’s side will ultimately secure the title. In a ‘blind ranking’ challenge, Terry placed Manchester City straight in at number one.

Among the title contenders, Arsenal followed next, with Terry ranking them in third place. He backed Liverpool to secure the runners-up spot.

Meanwhile, Tottenham is battling for fourth place, trailing Aston Villa by six points, despite having played two games less than Unai Emery’s side.

Interestingly, Terry chose not to rank one of Chelsea’s biggest rivals, skipping them on both occasions. Instead, he eventually picked Manchester United for fourth place. Currently, United is 16 points behind fourth-place Villa.

Despite their Champions League exit, Manchester City is still in pursuit of a domestic double, with another FA Cup final against Manchester United scheduled for May.

‘We have had a lot of problems with important players with injuries, but we are still there,’ Guardiola said.

‘We are in the final of the FA Cup, we made the latter stages of the Champions League and in the Premier League we are there.

‘But you can arrive to the end like this and in one week lose all titles, but the team have behaved unbelievable this season again.’

He added: ‘Every game is important now as every mistake and setback is difficult. But we have been here many times so we know what we are playing for.’
