Chelsea are considering making a January move for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir as Maurizio Sarri looks to strengthen his attacking options.
The 25-year-old World Cup winner with France is one of a number of possible options the Stamford Bridge club have shortlisted for January.
Liverpool agreed a fee of around £52.75million for Fekir back in the summer but the deal did not materialise eventually.
Chelsea will be hoping to pay less than that because Fekir’s contract with Lyon expires in the summer of 2020.
Lyon may be willing to complete the formalities of a deal in January but Fekir could make the move next summer.
It comes as Chelsea revive their interest in on-loan AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain ahead of the January window.
Higuain was a target for Sarri last summer and Chelsea held talks with Juventus but a deal was not agreed.
However, negotiations failed to develop and the Argentine moved to AC Milan on a £16m season-long loan with an option to buy as part of a swap deal involving defender Leonardo Bonucci.
Sarri, who is keep to strengthen his attacking options to keep pace with Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham above them in the Premier League, worked well with the 31-year-old at Napoli.
Another potential January target for Chelsea is Borussia Dortmund player Christian Pulisic, who is valued at around £60m.
