Liverpool agree £62m deal for Nabil Fekir

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a £62million deal with Lyon to sign playmaker Nabil Fekir this transfer summer.

Although Liverpool did not sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho in January, who joined Barcelona, but they have been searching for a player to fill his void.

RMC Sport claim they have agreed a deal with Lyon for Fekir, with the 24-year-old agreeing a five-year contract and interested in a move to Anfield.




Liverpool will pay £62m in addition to a couple of bonuses for Fekir, who has 17 goals and seven assists in Ligue 1 this season.

Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier has an hand in the deal, as he is now an adviser to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Houllier was in to England a few weeks ago to finalise the deal, Fekir will sign for Liverpool and will be joined his younger brother, Yassin Fekir.




However, Aulas has played down reports of Fekir’s imminent switch to Liverpool, saying that he hopes to convince him to stay.

Aulas told reporters: ‘We have had no contact with Liverpool today. Nabil Fekir is here. We hope to keep him and have him playing the Champions League with us next year.’

However, Fekir has previously said he is ready to leave Lyon and is keen on another challenge outside France.
