Reports from Italy suggest that Victor Osimhen, the Napoli forward, is on the verge of a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain for the upcoming season.
While Chelsea has shown interest in securing Osimhen for their summer roster, they are up against stiff competition from PSG.

Aurelio de Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, has confirmed that Osimhen, who is bound by a release clause valued between €120 million and €130 million, is set to depart the club when the season concludes.
The Italian newspaper Il Mattino reports that Osimhen is nearly confirmed for PSG, with Napoli anticipating the French team’s fulfillment of the forward’s release clause.
In the meantime, Osimhen has hinted at a heartfelt goodbye to the Napoli supporters in the coming month.
‘For me it’s a fantastic feeling, in some clubs it’s the history that creates the identity, in Naples it’s the fans who make the team what it is. The way they support the team and each player is truly incredible,’ Osimhen said this week.
‘Sometimes I understand why some legends of the past cried when they left Naples, because it is an extraordinary emotion to play in the stadium and hear your name shouted from the first minute to the 90th, supporting the team and cheering.’
The news of Osimhen potentially opting for Paris Saint-Germain is likely to be disappointing for Chelsea, especially given their scoring challenges this season, exacerbated by Christopher Nkunku’s injury and Nicolas Jackson’s erratic performance in the scoring area.
John Obi Mikel, a past midfielder for Chelsea, had previously stated in February that Osimhen was contemplating a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Asked if Osimhen joining Chelsea is a ‘genuine possibility’, Mikel replied: ‘I think there is genuine interest between both. I think he loves the club, he wants to come to the club.
‘London as well, fantastic city, instead of going to Liverpool or places like that you want to live in London.
‘But he also has a lot of interest. Paris Saint-Germain, Man United.
‘I’m still pushing, sending him messages, trying to make sure he doesn’t expect to much, narrow you’re mind on one club – the Blues.’
