Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen is receptive to the idea of joining Chelsea, as Todd Boehly is poised to approve additional significant spending at the club.
Despite substantial expenditures totaling around £1.3bn in the last four transfer windows, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino aims to bolster his squad this month.

Pochettino, who had minimal involvement in decisions during the previous summer’s transfer window, desires a more prominent role in future recruitment processes.
The former Tottenham Hotspur boss believes the team lacks depth in attack and is overly dependent on Nicolas Jackons’s goal-scoring abilities during his inaugural season with the club.
Although Osimhen, aged 24, recently inked a new deal with Napoli, it reportedly includes a release clause of approximately £103 million.
Currently participating in the Africa Cup of Nations this month, a January move for Osimhen seems unlikely.
However, reports suggest that Boehly has authorized additional significant spending, and Osimhen is open to relocating to west London.
While Chelsea is expected to face competition for Osimhen’s services, the Nigerian striker is allegedly in regular communication with club legend Didier Drogba regarding a potential move to the capital.
In addition to securing a new forward, Pochettino is keen on acquiring a left-back.
With Ben Chilwell sidelined due to injury, Levi Colwill has been filling in, but he faced widespread criticism following the club’s EFL semi-final first-leg defeat to Middlesbrough earlier this week.
