Marcus Rashford became the first Manchester United star to send a public message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his sacking at Old Trafford.
The Norwegian manager was relieved of his duties on Sunday morning after a dismal 4-1 defeat against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
While Solskjaer lost the dressing room’s faith with the recent poor results, he remained a popular figure with the players.

And Rashford encapsulated those feelings with an emotional message to Solskjaer on Sunday, becoming the first Red devils player to take to social media.

‘Club legend ❤️,’ wrote Rashford.
Michael Carrick is now set to take charge of United for their key Champions League group stage clash against La Liga side Villarreal.
The club then hope to appoint an interim manager for the rest of the campaign before appointing a successor to Solskjaer in the summer.
Zinedine Zidane is the favourite to take charge at Old Trafford but he had intended to take a sabbatical until at least the end of the season, while his wife is believed to have reservations over a move to the north-west.
The former Real Madrid boss is the only outstanding candidate that is currently out of work, with managers like Brendan Rodgers and Mauricio Pochettino currently with clubs.
