João Felix, the Barcelona striker, has expressed his views on the ongoing debate comparing Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, two players who have reached remarkable milestones in football.
Throughout the 21st century, Ronaldo and Messi have been in a constant battle to surpass each other’s achievements, solidifying their status as two of the most exceptional footballers in history.

Their competition ignited in the late 2000s, and since then, they have collectively secured 13 Ballon d’Or titles, with Ronaldo claiming five and Messi leading with eight.
These accolades have naturally led to comparisons, sometimes even fueled by the athletes themselves.
For Felix, who has connections to both legends, picking the ‘GOAT’ is a complex decision. He has shared the field with Ronaldo on the Portuguese national team and has recently shone at Barcelona, a club synonymous with Messi’s enduring legacy.
During a Twitch session with Bojan Krkic, Felix stated his belief that such comparisons between Ronaldo and Messi are unnecessary.
He commended their immense contributions to football and emphasized the challenge in selecting one above the other.
He said: “Messi and Cristiano should not be compared. You should enjoy them. Choosing one of them is very difficult. They both did very good things that will not be repeated.”
João Felix, on loan from Atletico Madrid, is relishing his stint at Barcelona, where he has emerged as an integral part of the team’s lineup this season.
The young forward, aged 24, has made 35 appearances in various tournaments, scoring nine goals and delivering six assists.
Barcelona reportedly values the Portuguese international’s performance this season highly. Given the financial constraints, they are contemplating extending his loan spell for another term, as a full transfer may not be feasible.
