Solskjaer hits out at Van Persie again after Man Utd’s draw against Wolves

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has followed up his attack on Robin van Persie after United’s goalless draw against Wolves in the FA Cup by saying that he does not need to scare his players in order to motivate them.

After United’s defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday, Van Persie criticised Solskjaer for smiling in his post-match interview and claimed the United boss needed to be more ‘angry’.

Before the Red devil’s FA Cup third-round tie with Wolves, Solskjaer slammed the former United and Arsenal forward by saying that the Dutchman’s views were from ‘medieval times’.

And when asked about Van Persie’s comments again after the game on Saturday evening, Solskjaer said that he is happy with his own management style.

‘There are different ways to motivate and inspire players, and I do not always believe in scaring them to play better. After all, we are in 2020,’ Solskjaer told Viasport.

‘I like my behaviour, my personality and my values. I stand by them,’ Solskjaer told Viasport after United’s FA Cup draw with Wolves on Saturday evening.

‘It also works closely with the players, the dialogue is good. ‘There are many people who do not know how it is behind that door in the dressing room.

‘Sometimes you are tough, sometimes you give players a pat on the shoulder.’

Asked if he finds the criticism about his management style frustrating, Ole Solskjaer replied: ‘No. ‘Ed, Joel [Glazer] and those I work with know how I am. ‘Those who know me know how I am away from the cameras.’
