Solskjaer reveals when Amad Diallo will make Man Utd debut

Diallo and Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he’s been surprised by how quickly new boy Amad Diallo has settled in at the club and says he could make his debut for the Red Devils in the next month.

The winger moved to Old Trafford a fortnight ago after completing a £37million transfer move from Serie A club Atalanta.

United have long coveted a right winger and Paul Pogba, who was used there in the draw against Liverpool on Sunday, was the eighth player to play in the position for the club this campaign.

And Diallo could provide the much needed thrust from the right but the expectation was that the player would be given plenty of time to settle in before playing more regularly.

But, Solskjaer confirmed today that Diallo has already impressed him and made a ‘difference’ in training, meaning he could even make his debut in the next four to five weeks.

‘Very good,’ Solskjaer said of Diallo. ‘He can handle the ball, he’s enjoyed training, he makes a difference in training, which is quite remarkable at his age.

‘There’s some adjustment to settle into the hustle and bustle and the physical part of the Premier League but I can’t see it being too long until he’s in the squad.

‘It might be quicker than [four or five weeks], who knows? He’s definitely settled down well, the players have taken to him, he’s a very good character, a very polite, smiley boy who works really hard.

‘He’s doing his sessions, getting used to us, of course, there’s always a period of adjustment needed but he’s settling in well.’

United will play Fulham at the Craven Cottage on Wednesday, where they’ll look to maintain their spot as thr Premier League leaders.
