Solskjaer slams Jesse Lingard from the touchline in Man Utd’s clash vs Man City

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer launched a furious tirade at Jesse Lingard during Manchester United’s Carabao Cup game against Manchester City on Wednesday.

The flashpoint occurred during the second half as the Red devils were chasing a second goal after Nemanja Matic had put the team in front in the 35th minute.

Jesse Lingard’s loose pass for Fred in the second half was intercepted and Man City quickly countered to create a one-on-one chance for Raheem Sterling.

Though, Sterling was unable to finish his chance but the incident provoked an angry reaction from Ole Solskjaer on the touchline.

Television cameras pointing towards the dugout picked United boss Solskjaer shouting: ‘Jesse. One more time and you’re f****** off.’

Jesse Lingard was then substituted shortly after in the 65th minute of the game against Mnchester City.

Solskjaer also took a sly dig at Anthony Martial, who didn’t do enough to get himself into goalscoring positions in the cup game.

“I want a striker who wants to break his nose to score a goal,” Solskjaer said when asked about his attacking options after the match.

United were unable to complete their comeback and were later hindered in the latter part of the second half after Matic was sent off.

City won the tie 3-2 on aggregate and Pep Guardiola’s team will play another Premier League side Aston Villa in the final on March 1.
