Thomas Tuchel will fly into the UK on Tuesday, and he could be in charge of the club when they play Wolves on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
Frank Lampard was sacked as Chelsea manager on Monday after a number of poor results in the Premier League and a failure to get the best out of his summer signings, Timo Werner and Havertz.
It is no secret that Tuchel is set to take over from Lampard, with the former Dortmund and PSG manager likely to be unveiled on Tuesday.
It would be a very busy start to his first job in the Premeir League, but the Times claims that Tuchel is planning to be in charge for the game against Wolves on Wednesday.
First team coaches Anthony Barry and Joe Edwards took the training session on Monday, but it has been moved to 6pm on Tuesday to allow for the arrival of Tuchel.
The German coach will be clear to go straight into his new job as long as he tests negative for Covid-19, and will avoid an isolation period.
Tuchel has only been out of work for only a month since leaving Ligue 1 side after two-and-a-half years in charge of the club.

That spell saw him win two French Ligue 1 titles, the Coupe de France and finish runner-up in the UEFA Champions League last campaign.
Previously he spent two years in charge of Dortmund after replacing Klopp in the role. The 47-year-old is fluent in English and has always been interested in a move to the Premier League so will be raring to go and look to rebuild club’s season.
He will be expected to get the best out of his countrymen Werner and Havertz, which Lampard failed to do, while he also worked with Pulisic at Borussia Dortmund.
