Thomas Tuchel could not hide his frustration at Timo Werner after he missed a sitter in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory against West Ham.
While the German striker had opened the scoring for the London side in the first half, he was guilty of wasting a glorious chance early in the second half.
A long range strike from Mason Mount was stopped by West Ham keeper Lukasz Fabianski but he could only palm it away into the danger zone.
Werner followed the ball in and looked set to a tap-in, but he somehow sent his shot past the post. And Tuchel, who doesn’t hide his feelings, watched on in horror.
He moved his head side to side in shock, before turning away from the pitch and throwing his hands up.

While Tuchel was annoyed, he will have been pleased with the player’s efforts in the first half. Werner was a constant threat in the game and got his reward when he slotted home from a Chilwell cross.
However, his second half miss didn’t cost the blues, who moved three points clear of their opponents in fourth place on the Premier League table. They are now only one point behind Leicester in third and four points ahead of Liverpool – who drew 1-1 with Newcastle – and Spurs.

“The second chance I have to score, but I have to come back slowly,” Werner told Sky Sports . “One goal is enough. Two goals might be too much for the beginning!”
Tuchel, meanwhile, said he was “very happy” with his performance despite his miss in the second half. He added: “The boys are very, very happy in the dressing room, it was a great performance, an amazing result and I think a well-deserved win for us.
“He always gives everything, he could have made it more comfortable but I am very happy because he played a very good match,” said the Blues boss.
“The first 10-15 minutes in the second half, we did not come out very well from the dressing room but the last half-hour was excellent and the first half was excellent.”
