The England international recently saw charges of attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour against him finally dropped.
Greenwood was initially arrested in January last year over the allegations after the emergence of disturbing videos and pictures posted online by a woman.
It was then announced on Thursday that the Crown Prosecution Service decided to drop the charges against the 21-year-old
But, The Sun claim that the Red Devils squad have concerns over how Greenwood’s return could affect their campaign.
A source told them: “The players are open to him returning to the team but the scrutiny could be massively distracting.
“The dressing room is the happiest it has been for ages and no one wants to rock the boat.”
United released a statement after the decision from the CPS that read: “Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped.
“The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete.”
Erik ten Hag’s side have been in outstanding form as of late in both the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
United currently sit third in the Premier League table following their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
In addition, they have also reached the Carabao Cup final, where they will face Newcastle United at Wembley at the end of the month.
