Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes was angered by wonderkid Mason Greenwood for his ‘lethargic’ performance in training before the 3-1 win against Everton.
The Red devils had just one training session between their 2-1 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir and their game against Everton on Saturday.
Greenwood was a late substitute in Turkey and was set to start against Everton, given the short turnaround between the games.
However, the 19-year-old forward was left out of United’s 18-man squad for the 3-1 victory over the Merseyside club, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claiming he was suffering with illness.
According to the Times, there’s a growing concern at the club over Greenwood’s application and Fernandes was reported to be unhappy at him for his refusal to run for a pass during training on Friday.
It’s not the first time that Fernandes has been involved with one of his team-mates in training, as he was caught berating Alex Telles during a training session just recently.
Though there was no argument between both players, Fernandes clearly noticed Greenwood’s lack of application and it’s not the first time in recent weeks that question marks have been raised over the striker’s commitment.
Greenwood is believed to have been given a ticking off for arriving late to training in October, while the player was sent home from England duty for breaking Coronavirus rules at the team hotel.
United maintain that Greenwood’s performance in training was because he was feeling unwell.
