Many Real Madrid supporters have criticised Eden Hazard after he was seen laughing with Chelsea’s players following his club’s Champions League semi-final defeat.
Thomas Tuchel’s side booked their place in the Champions League with a 3-1 aggregate victory over 13-time winners Real Madrid.
The first tie in Spain finished 1-1 but the blues outplayed their opponents in London on Tuesday, with goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount setting up an all-English final against Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Hazard struggled to make an impact in both games against his former team and was seen talking to some of his ex-teammates after the defeat.
Former Liverpool player Don Hutchinson told BBC Radio 5 Live: ‘I’ve just seen some bizarre scenes. ‘Eden Hazard is laughing with Kurt Zouma and Edouard Mendy. It’s a Champions League semi-final.
‘I know they are his friends but I can’t imagine Cristiano Ronaldo coming off the pitch for Real Madrid laughing. That’s how laid back Hazard is.
‘I’m not criticising him. I just find it a bit of a weird watch.’
The incident caused a storm on Twitter, with many Real Madrid supporters unhappy with his reaction so soon after their Champions League exit.
Former Real Madrid star Javier Balboa tweeted: ‘Someone explain this to me because I do not understand it’ with some angry emojis.
Que alguien me explique esto porque NO LO ENTIENDO!!!

Hazard lacks professionalism, little wonder he’s never fit! Just lost a semi final without even making any impact and he’s busy laughing! Better join arsenal ?

We should try to sell Hazard back to Chelsea this summer. I swear on everything he is NOT better than Vinicius. Next ssn Vini-Benzema-Mbappe

Speaking after Chelsea’s win over Real Madrid, Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta said: ‘We had a tough opponent but the team performed really well and we scored two goals.
‘We can’t forget the saves from Edouard Mendy in the first half. The second half we were clearly better and we had a few chances to score more goals – but we fought really hard.
‘This campaign in the Champions League we have played two Spanish teams, but the most important thing is we are in the final. There is one more step and we will try to win, of course.
