Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez pocketed an incredible £5million in bonuses from the Red devils last year – despite scoring only five goals.
The Chilean forward banked the equivalent of £100,000-per-week despite failing to live up to expectations since his transfer move from Arsenal.
Sanchez set up a company called Goodway Limited when he made the transfer to Old Trafford in January 2018. And accounts show that he raked in £4,920,011 from performance bonuses and image rights in a year.
He received the cash on top of his staggering £400,000-per-week wages. It works out that the 30-year-old pocketed £1million in bonuses per goal he scored for the club.
In total for Manchester United, Sanchez scored five goals and made nine assists in 45 matches.
He has now joined Italian giants Inter Milan on loan in a desperate move to bring his career back to life.
But the Chilean has been ruled out until Christmas as he is set to undergo a surgery on his ankle. The on-loan striker dislocated tendons during the international break.
Prior to his latest setback, Alexis Sanchez claimed that he has rediscovered his “love for football again”after leaving United for Inter on loan.
However, regardless of how successful his spell in the Seria A becomes, United do not want him to return to Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will offload the winger next summer and will demand at least £25million for his signature.
