Arteta spotted mimicking Klopp after the final whistle in Arsenal’s win over Liverpool

After Arsenal clinched a significant victory over Liverpool, Mikel Arteta was observed imitating Jurgen Klopp at the end of the match.

The win at the Emirates on Sunday narrowed the gap between Arsenal and the league leaders with a 3-1 score.

Bukayo Saka’s early goal was negated by a Gabriel own-goal, but second-half strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard secured all three points for the hosts.

Jamie Carragher criticized the scenes at full-time, expressing his sentiments on Sky Sports. Nevertheless, Arteta celebrated his team’s significant victory on the pitch after the match.

In a joyous moment, he replicated the German’s iconic fist pump celebration in front of the Arsenal fans.

Each fist pump elicited cheers, reminiscent of the way the Kop end responds to Klopp’s gesture.

Arsenal currently hold 49 points, trailing Liverpool by a margin of two points.

Speaking after the result, Arteta told BBC Sport: “I’m very happy. It was a huge game that was going to dictate where we are and where we’re going to be.

“What the players produced was phenomenal. When they do that I have to put my energy in too.

“We are connecting with our people. We tried to produce a video to tell them how much we need them. They [fans] got the best out of every player today.”

The Spaniard praised Jorginho’s showing in midfield, saying: “I couldn’t [single out one player]. Jorginho got man of the match. I couldn’t be happier. He’s a real example.”

He added: “Tonight we will enjoy it because we worked so hard to win it.”
