Ben Chilwell has revealed that he is on the mend from a heel injury after finally completing his transfer move to Chelsea.
The left-back signed for Chelsea from Leicester City in a deal worth around £50million, penning a five-year contract with the London side.
Chilwell was Frank Lampard’s number one target this summer after coming through Leicester City’s youth ranks and has already established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old was a key player in Brendan Rodgers’ side, but missed the last weeks of the rescheduled 2019/20 campaign due to a heel injury.
With the beginning of the new Premier League season just over two weeks away, Chilwell offered an update on his recovery from the injury.
‘I’m feeling really good,’ he told the club website. ‘The injury is healing really well and I’ve been doing a lot of fitness work over the past four or five weeks.’
Chilwell is Chelsea’s third major signing of the summer after adding Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner to their team.

The player is expected to go straight into Lampard’s starting lineup and appears set to spark an exciting few days of incomings at Stamford Bridge.
Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva will sign a deal with Chelsea once his medical is completed and his arrival is expected to be announced next.
The Blues have also agreed terms with German side Bayer Leverkusen over the signing of midfielder Havertz, who is also scheduled to land in London imminently. And Chelsea’s season kicks off on 14 September with a game against Brighton.
