France boss Didier Deschamps has revealed his intention to speak to Anthony Martial a summer transfer to Juventus.
The France international has enjoyed a promising season, scoring nine times in the Premier League, but his game time has been affected since the January arrival of Alexis Sanchez.
He has completed 90 minutes in only four of his last 10 appearances in all competitions, and has only scored a goal and laid on just a single assist.
With United being linked with a move for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, as well as the in-form Willian, Martial could become useless at the club and Juventus are ready to make a move.
And Deschamps who has both played for Juventus and managed the team – says he is willing to talk with Martial about his situation at Old Trafford.
‘Martial has a contract with United and the club does not want to sell him,’ Didier Deschamps told Tuttosport. ‘Then let’s see if he will be looked for, by Juventus or by someone else.’
Asked whether he would advise the former Monaco player, he added: ‘I do not give advice, I give my opinion. Then, eventually, it is up to the players to decide.’
Deschamps had hinted that he helped convince Blaise Matuidi to join Juventus last summer.
Of his major role in previous transfers, he said with a smile: ‘Let’s say it will be my opinion… then it depends if they listen or not.’
