Erik ten Hag’s position on taking over at Man Utd revealed

Erik ten Hag will not leave Ajax to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United mid-season, according to reports.

Solskjaer is reportedly under mounting pressure at Old Trafford following Saturday’s derby defeat to Manchester City.

They have now won only one of their last six matches in the Premier League with the defeat to City and the 5-0 thrashing to Liverpool showing the growing gap between them and their rivals.

While the latest reports suggest Solskjaer will not lose his job during November’s international break, there are growing calls among supporters for him to be sacked with Rio Ferdinand also among those calling for change.

Ajax head coach ten Hag is among the managers who have been linked with the post.

The Dutchman has built a team at Ajax capable of taking on Europe’s giants having led them to the 2018-19 Champions League semi-finals with the current side showing its potential again in the competition this year.

Ten Hag however is unlikely to leave Ajax in such position with the Independent reporting multiple sources have indicated he will not leave until the end of the current season at the very earliest.

Ten Hag has been in charge of Ajax since 2017, winning two Dutch titles in that time. The 51-year-old has just over 18 months remaining on his deal.
