Cristiano Ronaldo left bewildered by ‘alarming drop in standards’ at Man Utd

Cristiano Ronaldo is alarmed by the drop in standards since returning to Manchester United after 12 years away, according to reports.

The Portugal international cut a frustrated figure once again as his United side were well beaten 2-0 by Guardiola’s Man City on Saturday afternoon.

The latest defeat is the Red devils’ sixth defeat in their last 12 matches which also includes the 5-0 humiliation by Liverpool just two weeks ago.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has found himself under huge scrutiny after the poor run of poor results with many calling for the Norwegian coach to be sacked.

He now finds himself under even more pressure after reports that he is facing a ‘dressing room revolt’ led by players like Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo.

After Saturday’s defeat, it has emerged that the latter is said to be amazed at how far the standards have slipped since he was last at the club in 2009, according to The Daily Mail.

Although the returning superstar was aware that times had changed since his first stint at Old Trafford, Ronaldo is reportedly shocked at the change in expectations and club’s conduct.

Between 2003 and 2009, he won nine trophies with United under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, including three Premier League titles and one Champions League crown in a team that dominated English football.
