Tunnel footage reveals Benzema laying into Vinicius & telling teammates to snub him

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema blasted Vinicius Junior’s first-half display against Gladbach to fellow Frenchman Ferland Mendy while the youngster was stood right by them.

Despite securing a win over Barcelona at the weekend, Real’s struggles continued in the Champions League on Tuesday as they fell behind to Borussia Monchengladbach only a week after losing to Shakhtar Donetsk.

A brace from Marcus Thuram put the hosts two goals up but Real Madrid managed to comeback, with Benzema netting in the 87th minute before Casemiro scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw.

Now footage has emerged after the match showing Benzema destroying Vinicius in the tunnel after the first half, speaking in French about the Brazilian attacker while he was stood clueless a few feet away.

‘He plays trash brother,’ Karim Benzema told left-back Mendy according to Telefoot’s tunnel cam, with the club’s keeper Thibaut Courtois also appearing to listen in.

‘Don’t play with him. On my mother’s life.’

Ferland Mendy appears to also have similar concerns over Vinicius’ first-half performance, replying: ‘He is playing against us.’

The duo did appear to address their concerns with the Brazilian as they walked to the pitch for the second half, though, with the players involved in an animated discussion as Vinicius received instructions from his teammates.

But, Vinicius was taken off by Zinedine Zidane as his first sub of the night 20 minutes later, with Eden Hazard coming on in his place, and the side mounted the late comeback without the Brazilian on the pitch.

The draw still leaves Real Madrid bottom of their Champions League group ahead of their games against Inter Milan, while this latest drama follows on from Isco being caught criticising Zidane during the El Clasico.
