Man Utd’s Hojlund makes Premier League history that can never be repeated

On Friday, Rasmus Hojlund was chosen as the Premier League’s Player of the Month for February.

No other player contributed to more league goals that month than the 21-year-old, who scored five times and provided an assist.

Hojlund found the net in all four of his February matches, helping United secure victories in each. Remarkably, he scored in six consecutive games, making him the youngest player ever to achieve this feat.

Furthermore, Hojlund made history as the first Dane to receive the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.

He emerged as the top choice from a shortlist that included Phil Foden, Joao Gomes, Pascal Gross, Rodrigo Muniz, Bukayo Saka, and Ollie Watkins. Notably, he is the second United player this season to win the award, following Harry Maguire’s November win.

Unfortunately, Hojlund has been sidelined with a muscle injury for the past few weeks, causing him to miss United’s last three matches, including a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Manchester derby.

United are gearing up to face Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday, and ahead of the match, the forward hinted that he may be fit to play.

“That would be nice,” Hojlund told MUTV when asked about the progress from injury. “Let’s see, but I’m going to be back as soon as possible.

“I don’t want to put a date on it because it will just interfere or something, but I think we’re not far off.”

Reflecting on his superb run of form Hojlund added: “I have to give credit to my teammates, they are the reason why I have performed this month.

“They have helped me, but from a personal point of view, I’ve done well, so I’m very happy and grateful.

“I think I always like to say I have confidence before going into the games.

“Of course, you have a little bit of momentum when you’ve scored and you feel in a good flow, you just want the next game to come. I don’t really care how they go in, I just want to get on the scoresheet.”
