Liverpool interest in Israeli player Moanes Dabour could ‘spark Mohamed Salah exit

Liverpool are said to be tracking Israeli star Moanes Dabour – but that could create problems for one of their superstars.

The Reds are reported to be keen on Red Bull Salzburg forward Dabour as they search for a support to Roberto Firmino.

According to FootballWhispers, chief scout Barry Hunter is even reported to have been over to Austria to scout the player, who has scored 33 times in 65 games for Salzburg.

The 26-year-old has netted three times in 12 games for his national side since making his international debut in 2014.

Liverpool have a history of buying Jewish players, with the likes of Avi Cohen, Ronny Rosenthal and Yossi Benayoun also playing at Anfield.

Now the Jerusalem Post are one of a number of outlets to allege that Egyptian forward Salah could even call quit his future at Liverpool if the move for Dabour happened.

But then there are also reports close to Salah that claim it’s not the striker’s concern who Liverpool.

Back in 2014 Salah was said to have refused to shake hands with Maccabi Tel Aviv players when they took on his then team FC Basel.

It became a talking point in Swiss football with the notion he was under pressure by public opinion in his country not to shake hands.

In the first leg he moved to a side of the pitch and changed his boots while the handshakes took place.

A week later in the second leg in Tel Aviv, he offered a fist-pump to Maccabi players.

In 1967 the two countries fought ‘the six day war’ over territory.

However relations between both countries have improved over the past few years, especially after the 2013 Egyptian coup d’etat.

Although Liverpool are said to be watching Dabour, it is highly unlikely that they would risk unsettling Salah.
