Liverpool star ruthlessly mocks Mason Mount during ranking challenge

Fabio Carvalho mercilessly taunted Mason Mount of Manchester United while participating in the blind ranking challenge.

Carvalho, currently on loan at Championship side Hull City from Liverpool, joined the competition.

He was assigned the job of ranking players, both past and present, from one to 10, without prior knowledge of who else would be included.

Among the players selected were former Arsenal and Chelsea standout Cesc Fabregas, former Barcelona forward Samuel Eto’o, and Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.

Additionally, Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka was placed in the 10th spot.

With only two positions remaining, Oliver Kahn was selected, and Carvalho placed the legendary German goalkeeper in second position.

As Mount emerged with only the No.1 spot left, Carvalho appeared to lack admiration for the Manchester United player, laughing as the challenge concluded.

Mount, who transferred to Old Trafford from Chelsea for £55 million, has not featured for Manchester United since their 1-0 victory over Luton Town in November.

He has been sidelined with a calf injury and has been making progress in his recovery, but he remains unfit to return, and the timeline for his availability for selection remains uncertain.

Throughout the current season, the 25-year-old has only featured in 12 matches across all competitions and has not managed to find the back of the net for his new team.

These statistics are likely a cause for concern for Erik ten Hag, who brought the player on board last summer.

According to Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov, Mount seems to be feeling the weight of his substantial price tag.

He explained to Betfair: “We all know he [Mount] needs to step up because he hasn’t played well since joining United.

“So, he’s the player I want to see give more and produce more because in some of the games, it looks like he doesn’t know how to fit into that system.

“He looks a bit lost from time to time, but we all know the quality he possesses.

“He was bought for big money which brings big expectations, but not only that, his stress levels will be high. At this moment, he knows he needs to produce, he knows he needs to step up and show the quality that we all know he has.”
