Maguire could lead Man Utd exodus with Ten Hag looking to sell 13 players

Harry Maguire could be one of 13 Manchester United players to leave this summer as Erik ten Hag prepares for his second summer as head coach.

The defender, who was a favourite under the previous regime, has been resigned to the bench for much of the season despite still being the club skipper.

Maguire wants more minutes and could eye a new challenge in the coming months in one of several possible high profile exits.

Ten Hag spent more than £200m in his first summer, bringing in Lisandro Martinez, Antony and Casemiro.

The Dutchman has delivered silverware and looks set to register a top four finish, but improvements are needed if United are to challenge Manchester City.

After almost a year in charge of the club, Ten Hag has been able to observe his players in training and in matches and is ready to offload more than ten players.

Anthony Martial, Diogo Dalot, Wan-Bissaka, Fred, McTominay, Van de Beek, Elanga and Brandon Williams all have uncertain futures at the club, according to the Daily Mail.

Martial has been struggling to produce in the final third with scoring goals a huge problem for the team, especially when Rashford is absent.

Dalot and Wan-Bissaka have shared the right-back position with neither player making the role their own this campaign.

Fred and McTominay, who were regulars under Solskjaer, have been dislodged by Casemiro and Eriksen while more midfield reinforcements could be sought.

Van de Beek may have thought more minutes would come his way after teaming up with Ten Hag again after they spent time together at Ajax, but the reverse has been the case.

Phil Jones, who has dealt with injury issues, has seen his exit announced this summer while several other defenders could follow him out the club.

Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and Alex Telles have all gone out on loan in search of more minutes this season.

The three of them will return in the coming weeks but they could be sold with United well stocked in defence, where Martinez and Varane have established themselves as the key duo under Ten Hag.
