Manchester United are set to reignite their interest in Toni Kroos this summer window after the German decided he wants to leave Real Madrid.
Kroos, who has been a transfer target for several United head coaches in the past, has endured a difficult campaign in La Liga.
Along with his team-mates, Kroos has under preformed in big matches and Real are now on track to end the season with no silverware.
Zinedine Zidane has been brought back in to steady the ship, but the Sun report that Kroos is ready to leave the club this summer.
United failed in the past with attempts to bring Kroos to the Premier League, but can now sign the Germany international for just £50m.
Kroos is under contract in Madrid until 2022, but wants to move onto a new challenge after the difficult time in Spain.
Zidane appears open to offloading several names this transfer summer as he looks to overhaul a fractured squad.
However, United could face competition for Kroos from the big-spending Paris Saint-Germain, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans to sell some players to lighten the club’s wage bill.
Solskjaer wants to free up space for at least one major signing and Kroos would demand a big salary if he was to move to Old Trafford.
United are also interested in Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, and have recently been linked with a transfer for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
While Kroos has also seen his form for Germany drop in the last year, the midfielder survived a surprise culling by Joachim Low.
