Man Utd could be without 11 players for first PL game vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has concerns over up to 11 players, going into the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.

United were given an additional week to prepare for the new campaign, after their Europa League participation saw last term run into the month of August.

While many of their league rivals were in action over the weekend, Solskjaer was able to arrange one final pre-season game vs Aston Villa.

But despite that, the Red devils have a lengthy list of players who may not be available for their first game of the season.

The MEN claim that Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Fred, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Eric Bailly just returned to full training on Monday, while Fernandes just resumed days before.

Though Phil Jones is fit, but is unlikely to be selected, Sergio Romero is yet to return to training at the club as he seeks an exit.

Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood is still training in isolation after returning last week. The United forward was sent home from England duty after breaching coronavirus guidelines in Iceland.

Axel Tuanzebe is definitely out for the game at Old Trafford as he continues his recovery from a long-term injury.

Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial will be assessed by United staff after the two were involved in international duty for Sweden and France respectively.

Donny van de Beek is in contention to make his first official start for the club, after impressing in the 1-0 defeat at Villa Park. Harry Maguire is set to start, while Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw were both involved against Villa on Saturday.
