Man Utd find house for Napoli star with deal close to being finalised

Napoli star Kim Min-Jae is on the brink of sealing his transfer move to Manchester United with the club having found a house for their new signing in the area.

The 26-year-old only joined the Italian side last summer in a £16m deal from Fenerbahce, enjoying a remarkable campaign at Napoli and playing a vital role in their Serie A title success.

The Red Devils are ready to take advantage of a release cause in Kim’s contract that is active during the first two weeks of July, making him available for a fee reported to be between £51m and £56m.

Recent reports have suggested the South Korean defender has agreed personal terms with United with Il Mattino now claiming the deal is ‘practically concluded’.

The report adds Man United have also found a villa in the Alderley Edge area for the defender, who will bank £7.8m-a-year at the club.

United have agreed to pay the fee up front but also enquired into a potential deal which would have seen Victor Lindelof move in the opposition direction to reduce the fee. Napoli however want the full fee paid.

Lisandro Martinez and Varane have been Erik ten Hag’s first choice pairing at the back this season with the Argentina international enjoying a good first season that was brought to an end in April due to a metatarsal injury.

Varane is now fit again for the last games of the campaign, missing eight league matches through injury this season.

Harry Maguire is expected to leave Man United having fallen down the pecking order this campaign, with Luke Shaw also preferred over the club skipper at centre-half on occasion this season.

United will also release Phil Jones and Tuanzebe at the end of the campaign when their contracts expire with Bailly also set to be moved on.

Signing a new striker this summer window is a major priority for ten Hag with Harry Kane the manager’s preferred option.
