Manchester United have been hit by a Covid-19 outbreak, with their upcoming Premier League game against Brentford now under huge threat.
The Premier League have been informed that a ‘small number of players and staff’ have returned positive lateral flow tests, according to The Athletic.
The Red devils beat Norwich City 1-0 on Saturday and are due to face Brentford on Tuesday. But that league game could be postponed after the club was hit by a coronavirus outbreak.

United’s Premier League rivals Spurs have had to postpone three matches due to an outbreak of Covid-19 in the Tottenham squad.
Ralf Rangnick was supposed to oversee a group training session on Sunday but the outbreak meant it could not take place.
Instead, they were only able to complete individual non-contact outdoor sessions, with the persons who tested positive sent home beforehand.
On Saturday, Championship side West Brom were hit by a major Covid-19 outbreak with four players testing positive ahead of their clash with Reading.
It is not the first time United have been effected by the virus, with Dean Henderson and Jesse Lingard both testing positive earlier in the campaign.
The highly contagious Omicron variant is threatening to wreck sporting events for the rest of this year, with virtually the whole of the 2020-21 campaign played behind closed doors.
From Monday, fans will need to prove they have been double jabbed or have tested negative to be allowed into games with a capacity of more than 4,000.
