Man Utd to launch fresh £50m bid for Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to up his offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to £50million.

Manchester United saw their opening £40m offer rejected by Crystal Palace, who hope to get around £60m for the England Under-21 defender.

The Red Devils feel that fee is too much for a player who only made his debut in for the club in February 2018. And they are becoming frustrated at the prices being quoted for young, homegrown talent in the Premier League.

As a result, They have already identified alternatives such as Paris Saint-Germain’s right-back Thomas Meunier.

But Solskjaer is desperate that he wants the 21-year-old Wan-Bissaka, as the long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia at Old Trafford.

So they will return with an improved offer and hope a deal can be done for considerably less fee than Crystal Palace asking price.

It may be though that they have to go higher than the £50m bid to land Palace’s Player of the Year from last campaign.

Solskjaer is in a hurry to sign Wan-Bissaka as he fears Palace are unlikely to sell both the defender and Wilfried Zaha in the same summer window.

And if a club was to come in with a huge offer for the former United wideman in the next couple of weeks, it could see the Palace close the door on selling Wan-Bissaka.

Solskjaer also wants to have new signings available in by the time his team return for pre-season training in just three weeks’ time.

United will spend a week at their Carrington training complex before going for a pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East.

However, Solskjaer would love to pair Wan-Bissaka with England’s Harry Maguire in United’s defence next season.
