Mauricio Pochettino’s struggle to juggle the number of egos at PSG continued on Saturday, as Kylian Mbappe was caught on camera complaining about Neymar.
The Ligue 1 side had just recovered from Lionel Messi’s refusal to shake his coach’s hand after being substituted in the 2-1 victory over Lyon last week when they then played against Montpellier.
And more problem has been spotted among the squad, Mbappe was caught on camera complaining to another teammate about Neymar’s selfishness on the club’s bench.
Goals from Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler sealed all three points for the French club on Saturday, but it didn’t stop Mbappe from speaking out his frustrations from the bench.
Having been substituted in the dying minutes of the match, the Frenchman was caught by Canal+ TV cameras turning to Gueye on the bench and saying: “He doesn’t pass me the ball,” in reference to Neymar.
The happened moments after the Brazilian forward had assisted Draxler, with Mbappe suggesting he doesn’t get the same service from Neymar.
The lack of cohesion between the attackers was evident in the game, with Mbappe and Neymar both wasting great goalscoring chances, or refusing to pass to teammates placed in better positions.
Both players were not on the scoresheet, as Pochettino had to rely on substitute Draxler to kill the game in the last minute.
There had been fears that their frontline would fail to click due to their own personal interests. PSG sporting director Leonardo has already spoken about the subject, saying that there is no jealousy between Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.
But harmony is lacking within the team, as displayed by Messi’s anger upon being substituted a week ago, and now the public frustrations between the two other forwards.
