Antonio Rudiger was dismissed from a Chelsea training session on Sunday after being involved in a bust-up with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Both players were left on the bench in Chelsea’s humiliating defeat at home to West Brom on Saturday but took part in Sunday’s training session.




The Telegraph claims Kepa was unhappy with Rudiger’s late challenge during a small-sided game, and the incident resulting in a ‘pushing match’ and a ‘heated argument’ between the duo.

According to the report, Thomas Tuchel ‘reacted immediately’ to the conflict and decided to send Rudiger back to the changing rooms early as he was not calm enough to complete the training session.

Although, It’s claimed that after the clash, Rudiger apologised to Kepa unprompted and Tuchel is now ‘happy’ that the issue has been resolved.

The Telegraph also claims that there was a second row between ankther Chelsea duo after West Brom defeat as Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James were involved in a ‘frank exchange of views’ in the dressing room.




Both Chelsea players are reported to have later spoke after the incident and there was no ill-feeling between them during Sunday’s training.

Tuchel, meanwhile, saw his 14-game unbeaten run as Chelsea manager ended with the shock defeat to West Brom. After the loss, he called for calm and urged his players to deal with the result together.




‘We cannot lose our heads now and take away the trust we have in these players,’ said Tuchel. ‘It was the moment after the game to be honest, be calm and to tell everybody to breathe.

‘This will be a hard evening for everybody. ‘We had completely different plans how to start this match day so we have to accept it now, it’s our first loss together. ‘It’s important to find a way to deal with it together.’
