Mohamed Salah has broken a Premier League record in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory against Norwich. He has become the only player to score in the opening match for five consecutive seasons.
Salah helped Liverpool to a 3-0 win over the Canaries at Carrow Road. He also made two assists as Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino scored in either side of half-time.
The game was the 100th different Liverpool match, in all competitions, in which the Egyptian forward has found the net.
After scoring a hat-trick against Leeds on the opening weekend last year, he became the second Premier League player after Teddy Sheringham to make it four consecutive scoring starts.
Back in August 2017, Salah scored and assisted on his Premier League debut against Watford as Liverpool drew the game 3-3.
The following year, he broke the deadlock during 4-0 beating of West Ham United at Anfield. And the 29-year-old scored and assisted as the Reds beat 4-1 Norwich in 2019, the first result which sent the club to their first title in 30 years.
This campaign has been tipped as a big one for Liverpool as they look to improve on a difficult season last time out which saw them finish third.

Klopp could welcome back Virgil Van Dijk to the team after he missed most of 2020-21 with a knee injury, who helped them keep a clean sheet.
Jota took just 26 minutes to open the scoring as he capitalised on a loose touch from Salah to slot home beyond Tim Krul. Firmino then doubled the lead after the hour mark to make it 2-0.
Although it initially seemed as though the opportunity was gone when Sadio Mane saw his shot blocked by Grant Hanley, but Salah was there to play in the Brazilian, who opened his account for the campaign after replacing Jota four minutes earlier.
