France dressing room reaction to penalty as Mbappe left “very affected”
France head coach Didier Deschamps has given insight into the immediate reaction to the team's shock European Championships exit.
Deschamps’ side looked destined to make it to the quarter-finals as they came from a goal down to take a 3-1 lead against Switzerland.

But their opponents came back to force extra-time with a last-gasp goal before eventually prevailing 5-4 on penalties.
The first nine penalty takers found the net before PSG forward Kylian Mbappe saw his effort saved by Yann Sommer to to eliminate France out of the tournament.
Speaking after the clash, Deschamps conceded there was “a lot of sadness in the dressing room” in the aftermath as he revealed nobody was angry with Mbappe.
