Barcelona ‘will not play Philippe Coutinho’ to avoid paying Liverpool £4.5m
Philippe Coutinho is set to miss the remainder of the campaign for Barcelona in order for the Spanish club to avoid paying a transfer instalment to Liverpool, according to reports.
Barcelona are currently in much-publicised financial strife amid the economic issue caused by the coronavirus pandemic. They have debts close to £1billion and there are even claims they could even be at risk of bankruptcy.

Liverpool will be due an additional payment of £4.5m if Coutinho plays another seven matches this campaign for Barca, according to Spanish outlet Onze.
The Brazil international is currently on the sidelines with an injury but is set to be available for selection again for the club in March.
