Mali is set to face South Africa in the opening match of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium on Tuesday.
Assigned to Group E, they will also compete against Tunisia and Namibia in the group stage.
Both squads have notable histories in the tournament. Mali secured the runners-up position in 1972, while South Africa emerged victorious, lifting the trophy in 1996.
As Mali embarks on their ninth consecutive AFCON finals appearance, South Africa aims to rectify their absence from the 2021 edition.
