Erik ten Hag set to receive offer after ‘holding talks with another team’

According to reports, Erik ten Hag’s management team has already engaged in discussions with Bayern Munich regarding a potential move if he is dismissed by Manchester United.

The Dutchman’s future at Old Trafford appears uncertain due to the club’s lack of progress during his two-year tenure.

United’s owners have yet to make a definitive decision on whether to terminate Ten Hag’s contract, which runs until the summer of 2025.

However, there is a possibility that he could be relieved of his duties if Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his associates deem a change necessary before the start of the next season.

In anticipation of a potential departure from United, Ten Hag is exploring other options. His representatives have reportedly held talks with Bayern Munich about the prospect of replacing Thomas Tuchel at the Allianz Arena, as per Sky Germany.

Bayern has included Ten Hag in their list of managerial candidates after failing to secure the services of former United boss Ralf Rangnick. Although the German giants spoke to Ten Hag’s camp a few weeks ago, direct discussions with the 54-year-old himself have not yet taken place.

While Ten Hag is believed to prefer staying at United to contribute to the club’s resurgence following INEOS’ investment earlier this year, he is reportedly “ready” for Bayern if it becomes evident that he will leave United at the end of the season.

Additionally, two other teams have expressed interest in appointing Ten Hag. A return to Ajax has been discussed recently, with reports suggesting that he is a top target for the Dutch heavyweights. Ajax will part ways with interim boss John van ’t Schip in the summer.

United is expected to delay its decision on Ten Hag’s future until after the FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester City in a rematch of last year’s fixture.

Whether victory secures his position at Old Trafford or if he faces dismissal regardless of the result at Wembley remains to be seen .

Ten Hag has maintained that he still expects to be in charge at United next campaign, telling Sky Sports last month: “I don’t have any doubts. I’m just focusing on my job, focusing on this process, in this project. I really love to be here, I’m enjoying it. For me it’s a challenge.

“It will not go always in the right way, it’s not going always the results in the way we wanted but I’m sure we’re in the right direction and we will get where we want to be.”
