Barcelona head coach Xavi has thanked Arsenal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, describing the player as a ‘gift from heaven’.
The Gabon skipper joined the Catalans in the January transfer window after Arsenal agreed to cancel his contract at the Emirates.
Aubameyang took a pay-cut in order to move to Barca and despite barely playing for the Gunners in the two months before his exit, he’s hit the ground running in Spain with six goals in nine games.

The former Borussia Dortmund star was on the score sheet again as the La Liga giants put four past Osasuna on Sunday night.
And Xavi couldn’t hide his delight at Aubameyang’s display, with the Spaniard thanking Arsenal for allowing him to join the club.
‘Auba has practically been a gift from heaven,’ said Xavi.
‘He is a positive player, he has come into the dressing room very well, he adapts well to the team, he creates scoring chances, he scores, he presses, it is a privilege to train him.’
Despite Aubameyang’s performances, the Gunners haven’t felt the striker’s exit in recent weeks. Arsenal beat Leicester City 2-0 on Sunday to make it eight wins from the last ten in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side are currently in fourth position and have three games in hand on rivals Manchester United.
