Manchester United have revealed their shirt numbers for this season after a busy end to the transfer window.
Edinson Cavani was the highest-profile addition to the team and it was confirmed on Tuesday that he would be wearing the No.7 jersey.
‘It will give me great pride to wear the No 7 shirt for Manchester United,’ Cavani told ESPN.
‘Now I am going to prepare for this responsibility, do my best to be ready and enjoy it and I hope to make my mark at Manchester United.
‘I have two years of a contract with Manchester United. I want to give it my all here. I feel good.’
And Manchester United have now confirmed the numbers of late signings Telles and Pellistri. The left-back, who completed a £15.4m transfer move from Porto, has been handed the No.27 shirt for the 2020/21 campaign.
The shirt number has been vacant since Fellaini’s exit and was previously worn by the likes of Federico Macheda, Silvestre and Gary Neville.
Pellistri, meanwhile, has been given the No.28 shirt after his move from Penarol. And Solskjaer has hailed Telles as a ‘fighter’ and a ‘winner’ after the player’s deadline day move to United.
‘First and foremost, I welcome Alex to United,’ Solskjaer said. ‘He is a player we have been tracking for some time and his performances over the past few years are exactly what we are looking for.
‘He is a fighter and a winner and will add real determination and competition to the squad. ‘Alex has the qualities, both as a player and as a person, that we want here at Manchester United.‘
