Leandro Trossard makes Premier League history in Arsenal’s win at Fulham

Leandro Trossard made Premier League history on Sunday afternoon as he provided three assists in Arsenal’s 3-0 victory at Fulham.

The January signing from Brighton assisted three goals for the Gunners, with Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli and Odegaard all netting from his assists.

In doing so, the Belgian star became the first player in the Premier League to provide three assists in the first half of a game away from home, according to Opta.

The whole Arsenal side was in good form on Sunday as they blew Fulham away in the first half and then enjoyed a comfortable second half, despite the home team improving after a poor first 45 minutes.

The win restores Arsenal’s five-point lead at the top of the league table from Manchester City after 27 games played.

The Gunners have now won five Premier League matches on the spin, recovering from their woeful performances last month which saw them lose to Man City and Everton and draw with Brentford.

Fulham stay eighth in the table after a poor London derby for them after losing to Brentford last time out.

‘I’m really happy with it, I always try and contribute goals or assists and help the team going forward,’ said the former Brighton man.

‘I’m really happy that we won and we can go forward with this.’

Manchester United’s outside chance of a Premier League title push appear to be at an end as they were held to a goalless draw against Southampton.

Casemiro was shown a red card in the first half and will be suspended for four games as it is his second league sending off of the campaign.
